Employee of the Month

So REI had this big sale this past week, and since outdorsy stuff is exactly what we need for Cambodia we naturally decided to have a team shopping experience. Apparently mosquitoes proliferate in equatorial climates and so insect repellent was high on my list of things to get. The following exchange took place between a REI employee and myself.

REI guy: You looking for anything in particular?
Me: Yea, I'm wanted to get some insect repellent.
REI guy: Jungle Juice is the way to go. It's got so much DEET that mosquitoes will die before they can land on you.
Me: Cool! (Spying a bottle, I hold it aloft and examine its contents.) So how long will a bottle like this last? If I use it every day?
REI guy: Oh, that'll last you anywhere from two days to four weeks.
Me: ...

At that exact moment another customer accosts him with a question and the conversation ends. I walk away very confused and unable to decide how many bottles of Jungle Juice I should buy. In the end I bought three. Emily doesn't think that's enough. Alain said I could use his if I run out. (=

Thanks for all the help REI guy.

If mosquitos in Cambodia are like the ones in Panama, any "repellant" is just a new flavor for them as they bite, gnaw and chew on you.
